C2PA clarification to “C2PA TDM Assertions” reference

By January 22, 2026No Comments

A recent EU stakeholder consultation and associated survey reference ‘C2PA TDM Assertions.’ The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) would like to clarify that its Technical Specification for Content Credentials does not contain a standard assertion related to TDM (Text/Training and Data Mining) nor does it contain a standard assertion for Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology. The C2PA has publicly stated that such technologies are not in scope. However, the C2PA designed the Content Credentials specification to be extensible by third parties to meet a wide variety of needs that are not directly addressed by the core specification.
